A rumour that has been in the footballing world for a while is that Lionel Messi had a hand in Mauro Icardi’s 2018 world cup snub.
Mauro Icardi is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as an attacker for the Paris Saint Germain. Prior to joining the Ligue 1 powerhouse, PSG, Icardi played for Sampdoria and Inter Milan. Icardi has made eight senior appearances for the Argentine national team.
Lionel Andres Messi, popularly called Leo Messi, is an Argentine professional football who recently joined Paris Saint Germain from Barcelona. Messi is undoubtedly one of the greatest persons to ever play football. Lionel Messi has made 156 senior appearances for the Argentine national team.
According to reports, the talisman of the Argentine national team, Lionel Messi, was not on good terms with fellow national teammate Mauro Icardi. Thus, as a result of this, the Argentine national team heads had to snub Icardi from the 2018 World Cup list despite Icardi’s massive performance for his former club Inter Milan.
Messi was a god friend of his fellow former Blaugrana Maxi Lopez and after Icardi stole Maxi’s wife, Messi did not have good terms with Icardi.
The above rumour was denied by Lionel Messi and revealed that he has nothing against Icardi and had nothing to do with Icardi’s absence in the 2018 Argentine World Cup list.
